Jua Capital is borne to serve the challenging space of financing middle market energy projects. It is culmination of deep and broad experiences of Abinash Tiwari and Kumar Aiyer since the early 2000s. Their passion for trying to solve the challenges of financing distributed generation projects led to their collaboration on a fintech platform that used real-estate-backed debt financing to help property owners go green. That experience also highlighted the limitations and challenges of using secured debt financing in helping small and medium businesses to find financing solutions for their clean energy projects. The team’s efforts have led to the establishment of an ecosystem of partners that enables efficient financing of smaller distributed generation with no-money-down, no personal guarantee, term energy services contracts called power purchase agreements.
Jua Capital is the platform launched to facilitate this dream of efficiently developing and financing smaller commercial solar and energy storage assets. The Jua team works with a network of qualified commercial solar and energy storage installers and customers across the nation assisting them and business owners to make their projects a reality.

Abinash Tiwari
Abinash Tiwari is a founder and partner of Jua Capital. Prior to Jua, Abinash served as the Chief Investment Officer of BlueFlame Energy Finance, a energy fintech platform focused on debt originations for C&I energy projects. Abinash is a very experienced energy banker, originator and developer with extensive experience in identifying investment opportunities in the Solar PV and energy project space. He began his career as an energy investment banker with BofA/Merrill Lynch. Following that he was the lead for origination and investment for Distributed Solar PV for Constellation New Energy. He was responsible for originating and financing over $1billion in distributed energy deals for Constellation. Abinash leads the origination and business development efforts of Jua Capital.

Dr. Kumar Aiyer
Dr. Kumar Aiyer is a founder and partner of Jua Capital. Prior to that, he was the founder and CEO of Blue Flame Energy Finance LLC, a start-up company in Carlsbad, CA focused on the commercial and industrial energy sector. Since 2011 he has served as the Managing Partner of CleanFin LLC a structured-finance advisory firm focused on the sustainability sector.
Prior to his career in Clean Energy Finance, Dr. Aiyer was a Portfolio Manager and Strategist on Wall Street in the Residential Mortgage and Asset-Backed Securities Industry. He was a Senior Portfolio Manager at ZAIS Group, a structured credit asset management firm in Red Bank, NJ from 2006 to 2011 working on Residential Mortgage Securities and Whole Loans. He has also served in senior research strategy roles at Banc of America Securities, Credit Suisse, and Paine Webber.
